I have been M.I.A for so long! Well there is reason for that, I was busy getting my education. I have spent the last 3 years working on getting my GED, & on March 31st it paid off as I passed my final section of my GED test!!! I'm so proud of myself for sticking with it. I spent 3 years going to school Monday-Friday, struggling, becoming frustrated, wanting to quit, but no matter what I stuck with it! I have had SO many people help me along the way, believing in me & encouraging me in moments of frustration. When I went in to take the test I wasn't as nervous as I thought I would be since I had taken the test 2 times prior to that, so I knew what to expect. But when I finished & waited for the results I was very anxious. The email for the scores came quicker then I expected, which was surprising to me because in the past it took at least an hour or so to get my results. When I saw that my score were from the Official Education Board of North Carolina, I knew I had passed. I felt a huge weight lift off of me. After that I had about a month until graduation. I graduated on May 13th! (With my parents) It was a very surreal moment.
As I sat there at Graduation, just kept thinking about everything I went through to get to that moment, and how all of my hard work & hours of studying & working with tutors paid off. It was so great to be able to walk in with my Advisors & tutor & see how proud they were of me. They were so proud of me, that they asked me to be first called out of all the student that were graduating. I'm so excited to close this chapter & begin a new one! I'm not sure what I'll do next. But whatever it is I know I'll give it my all! Never give up friends, always keep pressing forward even when it's hard, I promise you it will pay off! -Amanda

Hi Friends!! I have been M.I.A for a long while now, I have been SO busy with school, and to be honest, I have totally forgotten about this site. Reflect God's Beauty is so much more then just applying makeup to your face and looking pretty. It is about mirroring Christ in your daily life, through your lifestyle, your actions, the way you treat those around you, embracing what you stand for and so on. The makeup is fun and a great tool to use to break the ice, for a deeper discussion of self expectance, God given empowerment, confidence, and knowing your worth in your creator. I have wanted to sit down and just talk about this. I am in no way the most confident person in the world, I have done what every female has done and that is compare myself to others around me, have it be, the way I look, my emotions, my intellect, the way others view me. I have been guilty SO many times of being so concerned of what others think of me. I have stood in groups of people and have had anxiety creep upon me due to thinking that people around me were judging me, without anyone even saying a negative word to me, and in those moment I have allowed Satan to win, by allowing those thoughts to enter my mind. I know in my heart and in my spirit that this is not God's will for any of His children. We are called to be confident in who God create us to be. If Jesus would have had the mindset of allowing others opinions of Him to hinder His calling then we wouldn't have the gift of forgiveness. Not just for the forgiveness of our sins (which is most important), but also the ability to forgive others, and the ability to forgive ourselves. Forgiveness is an attribute and act that changes our life for the better it is the first step of growth. Whether it is forgiving an old friend for a falling out, or forgiving yourself for doubt, self-harm, ect. Whatever happens in life, forgiveness is a necessity, without forgiveness we would all just stay in the same place over and over again. Which in turn hinders our growth. God isn't going to gift us with forgiveness and then have us stay in the same place. A part of forgiveness is moving forward. An aspect of moving forward is having consistency, in the decision to move forward. We must remain constant, we have to keep the race at a steady pace, with the act of forgiveness at the forefront of our hearts and spirits. The true reflection of Christ is to have a forgiving heart & mindset. Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” and Matthew 6:14 says, “For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Spring is officially here! The Fresh Breeze, Flowers Blooming, (Allergies LOL), Spring Break, Shades, Beach and SO much more. These are a few things that come to mind when I think about Spring. This past Winter, felt like it was NEVER gonna go away. Now there are some days here in North Carolina, when the temps duo stop back down some, but I look forward to a warm steady spring. I hadn't noticed until recently how much I miss warm weather. The Beach What I look forward to the most is going to beach! It's one of my favorite places! I love the smell of the ocean, the sand, collecting sea shells, watching the birds, and just being in awe of God's Beauty. I has always been a goal of mine to live near the ocean and just be able to go everyday to the beach. Hopefully one day I will be able to do just that! Flowers I LOVE seeing all of the flowers and trees bloom during spring! I never really paid attention to the process until I moved to North Carolina, being from Florida, it just seemed like everything is always in bloom. But since I've moved and actually had REAL winters, it has allowed me to look at Spring in a whole new way! Blended Coffee Who doesn't LOVE a YUMMY, Creamy, Flavorful Blended Coffee covered in Whipped Cream? I LOVE them! I make them at home everyday! My dad makes Spanish Coffee (Bustelo) with warm milk, and I put it in a small blender with tons of ice and then put it in my reusable cup and head out the door. Sometimes I put whipped cream and let it get to the bottom while I drink and then mix it into the last little bit of coffee, its SO good! A Great way to cool off on a hot day! But if Coffee isn't your thing, I have something else that is perfect for a hot day! Smoothies Smoothies are another yummy, more healthy way to have a nice cool drink on a Spring day! Just blend your favorite Fruit, some Greek Yogurt, and some milk (Regular, Fat Free or Almond Milk) and plenty of Ice to make sure you stay nice and cool! If your not a fan of eating your fruits whole due to texture preferences this is great way to "hide" it. You can even go as far as Juicing the fruit first, to make sure all of the pulp or seeds are removed from the fruit. The fruit can be used for double purpose as the "liquid" and the fruit in your smoothie and you can continue from their with your Yogurt & Ice. You also don't add unneeded sugar from an artificial "Juice", with the fresh juiced fruit you know what is going into your smoothie, and only have the natural sugars of the fruit, anywhere that you can cut corners nutrition wise do it. it' much easier to make fresh pressed juice then it is to make Yogurt. Dining Al Fresco Nothing says Spring, like enjoying a light meal outside, breathing fresh air, feeling the breeze, hearing the birds , feeling the sun shine upon your skin and thawing out from the bitter cold Winter. There is such a huge difference (in my opinion) from eating indoors to eating outdoors. It just feels more relaxing to eat outside. It is a great way to detach from electronics and take in some quite time over your favorite meal. You can even set up a solo date dress up, order a nice meal, and eat outside in the patio area of your favorite restaurant and have "Me" time. Picnic If you are on a budget, another great way to have a nice outdoor meal is to have a Picnic! What better way to enjoy a nice Spring day then grabbing a blanket, a basket and filling it with your favorite hand held foods! Sandwiches, Pitas, Wraps, Cold Fruit, Smoothies in isolated cups, Chips and more, are perfect for a sunny afternoon at your favorite park, bring your phone loaded with your favorite music and a bluetooth speaker, and just enjoy a gorgeous day outside on ANY budget! There are plenty of activities that you can do on your picnic also, Bird Watch, People Watch, Play a game of Frisbee, Read your favorite book! Hi friends! Today I wanted to discuss my favorite must have Beauty Products!! I know I have listed these products before & have done a video on them but I have updated my products & wanted to give a more in depth view on it. Bella Pro Contour Brush:
I had been looking for a Flat Contour brush for a while, before I found this gem I was using a regular blush brush pinch into a contour shape using Bobboy Pins, (A tip I had gotten from Lauren Conrad's website, http://TheBeautyDepartment.com, it did work for a little while, but the width was too thin of a contour line. So while browsing through Marshalls one day, I found the Bella Pro Contour Brush, at an amazing price of $5 bucks, compared to the price of ones found at Target & other stores I had been too, this was complete steal. Pros: Gives a great contour & blends well. Cons: The handle is very thick, but then again my hands are small so maybe thats why it doesn't feel comfortable in my hands. E.L.F Brow Kit: I stumbled upon the E.L.F Brow Kit, a while ago, I love how there is a creme option and a powder option, yes I know the powder is meant to set the creme application, but it is also good to use the powder separate. I also at times use the powder as a nose contour, because it is a light shade. It also comes with a small brush applicator. Pros: Easy application, packaging is small and compact so it can be taken with you for on the go touch up. Affordable, runs around $3. Cons: NONE! ; ) Profusion Contour Palette: This is probably one of my favorite makeup products that use! I bought this from Ross for around $8! I had always seen this palette when I would go to Ross, but they would always be damaged and shattered to pieces, so one day I finally found one that wasn't damaged, so I purchased it. It comes with a Shimmer Highlight, Banana colored shade, a Peach shade, & 3 different Brown shades, ranging from Light, Medium & Dark. Pros: The powders are VERY blend able, offers different contour shades to choose from. Cons: The palette doesn't come with a mirror or contour brush. The Carli Bybel Palette: I personally consider this to be BH Cosmetics BEST Collaboration EVER!!! There is a reason why this palette sold out in a day and literally took FOREVER to get back in stock!! It's because this Palette is BEYOND AMAZING! The shadow shades are great but the most AMAZING part of this palette are the HIGHLIGHTERS!! These highlighters alone sell this palette! I wish BH would consider selling the highlights as indivduals and in bigger sizes! Also, with Carli Bybel creating this palette you know its bound to be a hit! Carli, was one of the first YouTubers that I started watching , and began learning tips from her videos, so I had to support and purchase this palette! Pros: AMAZING!!!! Cons: I didn't buy more then one (I should have) and it took forever to restock! Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer This is by far the BEST Concealer on the market! I heard about this Concealer from Nicole Guerrero's Best 20 under 20 video on YouTube. I had never thought of using a concealer, until I saw Nicole's review on it. Now its one of my favs! Pros: EVERYTHING! Great coverage! Cons: It kinda runs out quick! The design of the applicator is cool, but it is small. Maybelline does make a large one but its a foundation, not a concealer. BH Cosmetics Galaxy Chic Palette I purchased this palette about a year ago and it still blows me away every time I use it! It runs about $12 and you get 18 baked shadows! Meaning they can be used dry or wet! Either way you choose to you them they are amazing! Another reason I purchased this palette is because I LOVE the Cosmo & each shadow is based on a planet or star in outer space! Pros: Can be used dry or baked. Amazing Colors, affordable! Cons: NONE!! Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless I'll admit in NOT a fan of Foundation! But... I'm a fan of this one! I have always left like foundation makes your face feel sticky, but Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless is GREAT! I like to also mix this with a BB cream which in my opinion makes it feel super light weight. Pros: Works great!! Con: I think I use the wrong shade but thats me no the foundation! LOL!! E.L.F High Definition Powder I use this sometimes to bake my face, it works well and is super light! The price is about $6, it is great at adding a sheer finish to your look. Pros: Works well to sculpt a good contour. Cons: When using it kinda dust up everywhere. Well friends that is my rundown of my favorite makeup products! I hope this help you all out & I'll be back soon with another post!!! -Reflect God's Beauty Wow time has flown by!
No, it has yet to be the 1 year anniversary of Reflect God's Beauty's launch (that takes place on March 11th!), but I'm just reflecting (no pun intended) on all I have done with Reflect God's Beauty! Starting this venture was a chance to totally step out of my comfort zone, I come from the world of cover songs and was featured on a few websites of cover song artist, (Coverium, Sing-Who, Doo Yoo.) and also posting the cover on YouTube. After one of the main websites I was featured on shut down, I decided to pull back from cover songs. I took sometime to myself and wanted to try something different, so I spent ALOT of time (and continue to) watch makeup tutorials from other girls on YouTube, to get tips & learn techniques. I also got support from my friend, Alyce, who has a Makeup Channel on Youtube. (I'll link her page below) https://www.youtube.com/user/alyce8683 I spent a lot of years feeling very insecure about my looks and always compared myself to others. But I have realized that the only thing I could do is accept myself for who I am and try to be the best version of myself that I can be. I want to make it my goal this year to be the best version of myself, Mentally, Spiritually, Emotionally & Physically. It is then and only than that I can make Reflect God's Beauty, the best it can be. I want others to realize through Reflect God's Beauty, that they don't have to try to be someone there aren't, that God made each of us just the way HE wants and needs us to be. Merry Christmas!!!!
Let us all remember to TRUE meaning of this holiday, it is to CELEBRATE the Birth of Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ! A little over a week ago I decided to take the plunge and attempt to do my hair like Tori Kelly. From the moment I saw her hair I LOVED it! I have naturally curly hair but through out my life have never embraced it , at a young age I would use chemical hair straightener to get rid of my curls, which ultimately ruined my curl pattern. It wasn't until I cut all my hair off to let my curls grow back in, that it got any better. I do still straighten my hair but now using flat irons & a HEAT PROTECTOR, which is SO Important. To be honest the photo on the lower right side is a pencil curl method, it is a time consuming process, but the outcome is worth it and holds all day. Prior to Bleaching my hair, I did a Leave In Coconut Oil Treatment. I soaked my hair in Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil and combed through it. I then left in in my hair for 45 minutes before applying the bleach. what is used to bleach it:After using Prism lights I Used: |
